There are atms, credit unions, hardware stores, small markets, restaurants, bakery, feed stores, western union, church, free Zumba in the park tuesday nights, gym and dance studio,Veterinarian, 2 pharmacies, medical clinic, auto mechanic, clothing, chamber of commerce, tiendas, furniture and appliance stores.
. There are 3 ways to get to the house from Cuenca- through Turi- Tarqui and 2 routes through Cumbe. Because the house is surrounded by mountains and a little east it is warmer and less foggy than Tarque and Cumbe .
I have a very reliable, honest, and pleasant woman that helps me twice daily with my 13 pets in exchange for a small grazing area and a nominal monthly fee. She knows the property well, and also sells organic eggs $3 a dozen and fresh milk right from her cow, still warm for 50 cents a quart. I have a gardener/ handy man that comes with a partner every 3 weeks or so. They cut the grass, clean water tanks, chop wood, wash and wax my truck, what ever i need for $20 a day for each of them. I have a horse trainer that comes to the house for $15 an hour, for training, bathing, exercising. He also trims the horses feet every 8 weeks for $15 each.
Veterinarian house call is $40 to see as many of the animals as i need plus medicine, which is also inexpensive. There are miles of trails from the house. There are also polo clubs, dressage, jumping, reining. what ever you are into.

Ex: Cardiologist appointment and EKG $45. My private insurance that i pay $67 a month for will reimburse me 80% of that cost. If you are over 65 you can sign up for their equivalent of social security for $70 a month and it covers everything. Also alternative medicine and dental care are 1/4 the prices in the US. There is a big modern mall about 35-40 min from the house with everything you could want, giant food court with entertainment, 2 arcades, bowling alley, restaurants and movies theater. The supermarkets are clean and well stocked. You can easily find free range chicken, eggs and grass fed beef, pork and lamb. The organic food markets are 1/3 the price of the US. Also spa pedicures for $10, manicures for $5. Mens haircuts $5. high lites/low lites and haircut for women $45. A dozen rozes are $3. You can have a nice dinner for two with wine and dessert for $30
